Information that we collect as you use our mobile application

Personal Information

• We use your personal information such as your phone number in order to create, and log in to your account.

• We collect your usernames to display on the “Leaderboard” feature of the application

• We require your transportation method that you are currently using or that you would be using to understand your transportation behavior and track your carbon footprint emission.

Access to Device

• We need your permission to access your files on your phone specifically your gallery in order for you to set your profile picture.

Location Information

• We need access to your GPS location in order to provide a “distance tracking” feature in our platform; therefore, GPS needs to be turned on to use the main feature of the application.

• Your location is needed for functional performance such as your distance made per trip, your speed, and specifically carbon tracking calculation.

• When you start a trip in the app, your location will be tracked and will be running in the background even when you close the app unless you end the trip.

• Once you end your trip, your location information will not be collected.

• Your location will not be shared with any other third parties.

 

Sharing your information

Information that you share

• You have the option to share your information with your friends or other platforms through the “Leaderboard” and “invite friends” feature. The information you share would be in form of an image with the “ranking” and “amount of carbon footprint” you have saved.

Information that we share

We do not share your personal information with companies, organizations, or individual besides G-Tran except for the following cases:

• For Research/Study Purposes: The amount of carbon footprint would be shared for the purpose of research or study on users’ behavior on transportations. However, your personal information such as your phone number, your profile picture will not be shared.

• For Future Partnership and Feature Expansion Purposes: Your carbon footprint records, your activeness, users’ location trends, and numbers of users will be shared with other trusted businesses or persons that are looking forward to being partnered with us for the purpose of improving users’ experience in our platform. However, the location of each specific user will not be shared.
